Uhrenmuseum Winterthur
In the heart of the old town the Uhrenmuseum (clock museum) Winterthur invites all clock lovers and enthusiasts, experts and the wider public to time-travel through six centuries. The antique clocks, dating from the 15th to the 20th century, were assembled from two high-quality collections of international renown: The collection of clocks from Konrad Kellenberger and the collection of pocket watches from Oscar Schwank. Konrad Kellenberger’s collection includes many rare and remarkable objects that feature excellent craftsmanship. In this unique presentation, time can not only be heard but also felt through the rhythmic ticking of active clockwork conjuring a perceptible soundscape. Oscar Schwank only bought the best pieces and formed his collection with great care. His pocket watches demonstrate technical skill and artistic finesse at the same time as showing off wealth and their status in society.
